To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour....

                               (W. Blake)

 In the beginning .....
I graduated Jerusalem's well-known college of art, Bezalel, in the 1950's. As a young and ambitious artist, I opened a place of my own: a small workshop and a gallery. My intention was to attempt and create something new, without forgetting the past. Ever since, this has been my goal: I strive for originality and inventiveness, while keeping the rich and artistic heritage of the Jewish culture in mind.
 Continuity…
A dramatic turn took place toward the end of the 1960's. Jerusalem was united, and for the first time, after twenty years, I could stroll again in the streets of the old city. It had a stunning effect on me. The walls and the towers, the narrow and dark streets, the huge building stones, the gates and the feeling of "organized disorder", they all deeply influenced me. I designed a new line, which I called Towers. In this unique - and with time successful - line, I expressed my enthusiasm for the sights I had discovered. Various sets of jewelry were created in the  Towers line: pendants, pins, earrings, cufflinks and many more.
 Technique ....
I always wanted to learn and master different techniques of work. I explored a wonderful, almost forgotten, technique brought to Palestine ( Israel) by Yemenite goldsmiths, and managed to use it in my own work.  I work with the newest and most modern techniques known today, and in my more intricate designs I combine more than one technique. This gives the piece, so I believe an original touch and a surprising twist.
 Designs ...
In a career spanning over 5 decades, I have designed and created a wide array of lines. Most of them are highly successful, both artistically and commercially, and I am proud of them. After the above-mentioned Towers, I designed a new line, which I called Shaybot. The jewelry in that line is made of several layers of discs, combining various metals and stones using a different texture for in each layer. A few years ago, I moved in the direction of architectural jewelry. This interest yielded the next line Squares & Triangles. The new collection makes use of geometric shapes and designs, clean lines and proportions based on contrastive free forms which please the eye. I try to achieve a feeling of depth and multi dimension by working the surface in a variety of textures. My newest major work is a piece called Tree of Life. I use a motif of a growing plant, inside a square or a circle. It can be the perfect gift for a mother - a diamond is added on each branch for every newborn.
 The Future ....
New designs, novel artistic ideas keep guiding me. I never stop learning additional techniques. Everyday, I try to create something new. My gallery, IDIT, is one of Jerusalem's oldest places. Since its first days, 48 years ago, I have had the pleasure to serve thousands of clients. Most of them became regulars, and they show their faith in IDIT by coming back, knowing they will find a warm welcome and new collections. They come from all over the world, and this is my chance to thank all of them. IDIT is a family business. Today, the gallery is run by Eli Davidov, my son in law, an architect by profession, who joined me in order to contribute from his skills towards developing new designs for old and new markets all over the world. My daughter Shlomit, who is a goldsmith in her own right, presents her designs.  My promise for the future is to retain IDIT as a place you will all love to visit, a place where you can find jewelry of the highest quality, a place that is proud of its service and attitude, a place of original works of art, a place that maintains its continuity and keeps growing.
